YOUR FIRST CHIROPRACTIC APPOINTMENT

Your chiropractic treatments take place in a friendly and judgment-free environment.

Each session is focused on getting you feeling your best as fast as possible. Depending on your condition, a typical session will last approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please complete our new patient forms and bring them with you to your first appointment, along with any medical assistive devices, such as a brace, splint, or crutches. Provide valid photo identification (i.e. driver’s license, state ID, or passport) in addition to your insurance card when you arrive.

If you are not able to complete the forms before your first visit, please come 15-20 minutes early to complete these important forms.

Your appointment time reflects when treatment begins. If running late, give us a call so we can try to accommodate your schedule.

  • You do not need a prescription to start treatment. Please check with your personal insurance to see if there are any exceptions.

  • We are In-Network with multiple insurance companies, including but not limited to: UMR, United Healthcare, Blue Cross Blue Shield, Medicare, and Aetna.

We also work with personal injury and car accident claims

    We do not accept Medicaid.

If you have an HMO, you must have a referral from your primary physician PRIOR to your appointment.

  • In most cases, health insurance will cover your treatment.

Click on our insurance link above for a summary of insurances we accept and make sure you talk to our receptionist so we can help you clarify your insurance coverage.

  • Billing for chiropractic services is similar to what happens at your doctor's office.

When you are seen for treatment, the following occurs:

    • The chiropractor bills your insurance company, Workers' Comp, or charges you based on Common Procedure Terminology (CPT) codes.

    • Those codes are transferred to a billing form that is either mailed or electronically communicated to the payer.

    • The payer processes this information and makes payments according to an agreed-upon fee schedule.

    • An Explanation of Benefits (EOB) is generated and sent to the patient and the physical therapy clinic with a check for payment and a balance due by the patient.

    • The patient is expected to make the payment on the balance if any.

It is important to understand that there are many small steps (beyond the outline provided above) within the process. Exceptions are common to the above example as well. At any time along the way, information may be missing, miscommunicated, or misunderstood. This can delay the payment process. While it is common for the payment process to be completed in 60 days or less, it is not uncommon for the chiropractic clinic to receive payment as long as six months after the treatment date.

  • Depending on your condition, a typical chiropractic session will last approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

Here are some important things to keep in mind:

    • Wear comfortable clothing that is easy to move around in and allows clinicians to access your point of pain. Sweatpants, gym shoes, and other workout attire is preferred. We have private rooms, and you may be asked to change into a gown to allow better access to the area of your body being treated (like the neck or back).

    • Your appointment time reflects when treatment begins. Try to be on time, we always do!

    • Please complete your new patient forms and bring them with you to your first appointment, along with any medical assistive devices, such as a brace, splint, or crutches.

    • Please call us if you are running late, so we can try and accommodate your schedule.

    • Check-in with the front desk when you arrive. They will be waiting for your arrival.

    • Provide a valid photo identification (i.e. driver's license, state ID, or passport) in addition to your insurance card when you arrive.

    • If possible, please schedule appointments per your plan of care to ensure you're preferred day(s) and time(s). Bring your calendar! We track your progress to ensure you meet your goals. To help us guide your care, we want to know what you think. We'll ask you to complete a questionnaire when you start your treatment and ask follow-up questions throughout the time you spend with us.

  • Make sure you bring any imagining, referrals, and medication lists, along with your insurance card and a valid form of identification. If you are coming in for Workers' Compensation, bring your claim number and your case manager's contact information. If you are covered by auto insurance or an attorney lien, make sure you bring this information.

  • You should wear loose-fitting clothing to expose the area that we will be evaluating and treating. For example, if you have a knee problem, it is best to wear shorts. For a shoulder problem, a tank top is a good choice. For low back problems, wear a loose fitting shirt and pants, again so we can perform a thorough examination.

  • Treatment sessions typically last 30 to 60 minutes per visit.
